EAGLES DEFEAT VIKINGS, 28-22, TO IMPROVE TO 5-2
Philadelphia has started 5-2 or better through seven games for the fourth consecutive season, which is tied for the longest stretch in franchise history (also 1947-50). Prior to this streak, the last time the Eagles got off to 5-2 starts or better in consecutive seasons was from 1979-81 (three).
Philadelphia leads the NFL in winning percentage (.821, 23-5) since 2024 (including playoffs). The Eagles have won 11 of their last 13 games (.846) as well as 21 of their last 24 contests (.875).
Philadelphia owns the highest road winning percentage (.711, 27-11) in the NFL since the 2021 campaign. The Eagles have earned victories in eight of their previous 10 away games.
Including playoffs, Philadelphia is 9-0 against NFC North teams (3-0 vs. Minnesota) under Nick Sirianni. That is the most wins without a loss by a team against any division since 2021.
HURTS, BROWN & SMITH COMBINE FOR HISTORIC EFFORT
Jalen Hurts completed 19-of-23 (82.6%) attempts for 326 yards (career-high 14.2 avg.), 3 TDs (all for 25+ yards), 0 INTs and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Hurts is the third player in Eagles history to post a perfect passer rating, joining Nick Foles (11/3/13 at Oakland) and Donovan McNabb (9/23/07 vs. Detroit). Hurts logged his most passing yards since 12/4/22 vs. Tennessee (380).
Philadelphia opened the scoring, 7-0, with a 37-yard TD pass from Hurts to A.J. Brown on fourth-and-4 in the first quarter, completing a 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive (8:01).
Hurts is tied for the most fourth-down passing TDs of 35+ yards (3) since 2022.
The Eagles made it a 21-9 score in the third quarter with a 79-yard TD pass from Hurts to DeVonta Smith. The TD was the 3rd-longest pass and 2nd-longest TD of Hurts’ career.
Hurts’ 4 passing TDs of 30+ yards rank 2nd in the NFL (Baker Mayfield - 5).
Hurts has recorded 2+ offensive TDs in each of his last five games, marking the longest active streak in the NFL and the 5th-longest streak of his career.
Philadelphia increased its lead to 28-19 in the fourth quarter with a 26-yard TD to A.J. Brown, finishing a 7-play, 70-yard drive. Hurts completed his last 3 pass attempts for 60 yards on the drive, with completions of 13 (Brown), 21 (DeVonta Smith) and 26 yards.
DeVonta Smith (career-high 183 yards with 1 TD on 9 receptions) and A.J. Brown (season-high 121 yards with 2 TDs on 4 receptions) combined for 304 yards and 3 TDs on 13 catches today. It was the first time both receivers had 100+ yards in the same game since 12/15/24 vs. Pittsburgh.
Smith’s 183 receiving yards are the most by an NFL player during the 2025 campaign.
Smith has posted 100+ yards in two of the last three games (114 yards in Week 5). His 183 yards are the most by an Eagle since Jeremy Maclin in 2014 (187).
Smith’s 79-yard TD in the third quarter was the longest reception of his career.
Brown totaled 120+ yards and 2+ TDs in a game for the first time since 10/29/23 at Washington. His 30.3 receiving average is the 5th-highest in franchise history.
DEFENSE FORCES 2 TURNOVERS AND EXCELS IN RED ZONE
Philadelphia’s defense generated 2 takeaways, including 1 TD, and limited Minnesota to just 1-of-6 in the red zone. The 16.7% opponent red zone TD efficiency tied for the Eagles’ best mark since 2000 in games in which they faced 6+ opponent red zone drives (9/19/13 vs. Kansas City).
Jalyx Hunt recorded his first career takeaway when he picked off Vikings QB Carson Wentz and returned the ball 42 yards for a TD to give Philadelphia a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.
Hunt became the Eagles’ first EDGE defender to return an INT for a score since Josh Sweat accomplished the feat with a 42-yard return TD on 12/24/22 at Dallas.
Andrew Mukuba recorded his 2nd INT of the season in the second quarter. Mukuba is the first Eagle with multiple INTs in their first seven career games since Rasul Douglas in 2017 (2). The last time Philadelphia produced 2 INTs in the first half of a game happened in Super Bowl LIX.
Moro Ojomo now leads the Eagles’ defense with a career-high 3.0 sacks this season.
